All Motimate users must have a Role. Depending on their role they have access to different parts of Motimate and can perform different tasks.
The roles in Motimate
There are two types of roles in Motimate:
- User Roles
- Group Roles
TheUser Roledetermines what the user can do in Motimate. There are 4 different user roles and the role is set when the user is created. The role can be changed by an Organizational Administrator in the Web Admin interface.
TheGroup Roledetermines the users access to user completion data in the groups where they are members. This data is accessed via theInsightsfunctionality. The Group Role is set for each group the user belongs to. The Admin role is inherited to child groups. The Group Role is set when the group membership is created and can be changed by an Organizational Administrator

AnOrganization Administratorhas
- all permissions.
- access toWeb Admin, where you have an overview of all users and groups, and where all user management is done.
- access toPulse wall,DocumentsandCustomlinks in Web Admin (if features are turned on)
- access toStudiowith all permissions. You can create and editMotis,PackagesandLearning Pathsand assign and publish these.
- access to the Motis' star ratings as well as any written feedback.
- access toInsightsfor all Groups.
A Chief Editor has

A Training Editor has
- access toStudiowith some permissions. You can createMotisand assign these. You cannot publish them.
A Pulse Editor has
- access to the following features in Web Admin:
Feedback, Documents, Pulse Wall, Groups, Users
A Normal User has
- access to assigned learning content.
- access to read and post in Pulse.
- access to assign and complete Tasks.
- access to read Documents.
- access to edit single Motis, if added as an Editor to the Moti, but will not have access to publish any edits. They must be approved by a Chief Editor or an Organizational Administrator.

A Group Member:
can access assigned Motis, and completion is reflected in the leaderboards and reports. The group member can see and post on the Pulse Wall (if available) and can assign and receive Tasks (if available).
A Group Administrator
has the same accesses as a Group Member. Group Admins also has access in Insights for the groups where they are members. The Admin role is inherited to child groups.
A Group Observer
has less access than a Group Member, and the user is less visible. Assigned learnings is not visible and completion data will not show in leaderboards or reports.
